Once upon a time, there lived an old man and an old woman.

One day, as usual, the grandfather went to the mountain to mow the lawn, and the girlfriend’s grandmother was washing clothes at the river. When the old woman was washing her clothes in the river, a large peach came floating down the river. Her grandmother picked up a big peach and brought it back to her house. The old man who came back from mowing the lawn was surprised! That night, the old man and the old woman cut a large peach in two, and a baby boy appeared inside. The grandfather and grandmother, who had no children, gave the baby that came out of the peach the name “Momotaro” because it was born from a peach, and raised him with great care.

Eventually, Momotaro grew up and heard rumors of villages being attacked by demons and decided to go on a journey to exterminate demons. The grandmother gave Momotaro a “kibidango” on the day he left for his journey. On Momotaro’s journey to exterminate demons, he meets a dog, a monkey, and a pheasant, and in exchange for millet dumplings, he takes them with him on his journey to exterminate demons. Momotaro and his party arrived at Onigashima, where the demons lived, and took advantage of the demons who were having a drink party, and punished every single one of them. He then took the mountain of treasure that the demons had hoarded back to his grandfather and grandmother, and they lived happily ever after.
